Question
What is No of Users (who will use this product) ?
Answer
This is the number of actual users or machines (whichever number is greater) where the product will be installed. To be compliant with our licensing, each physical user/machine requires an End User License (as each license is also entitled to technical support).
If this is a shared machine with 1 shared account, and 3 users sharing the machine, you are required to have 3 end user licenses allocated to each user (as they will be using this tool).
Note: For SharePoint Essentials Toolkit this is NOT the number of SharePoint clients or end users using the SharePoint site, it is the number of users who use the product.
The tool was designed for SharePoint Site Collection Administrators, Site Owners and Content Owners.
Examples
Applies to SharePoint Essentials Toolkit Product Licenses:
If you have 5 Site Owners who need to check their sites for Permission Reports, and the tool will be installed on each of their desktops, "No. of Users (who will use this product)" value would be 5.
If you have 1 SharePoint Administrator who needs to scan sites for Broken Link Reports, and the tool will be installed on 3 machines (for example: to offload resources), "No. of Users (who will use this product)" value would be 3.
If you have the tool installed on 1 machine, using a service account with 5 users sharing it, "No. of Users (who will use this product)" value would be 5.
The SharePoint Essentials Toolkit license model is 'per seat' or 'per named user'. If you have 25+ Users who require licenses, we also offer a 'concurrent user' license model which typically is more cost effective for larger deployments of our products.
