NOTE: This question relates to the SharePoint Essentials Toolkit product licensing.
We only need 2 or 3 user licenses, I only see the option for 1 or 5 on the website. Can we just purchase licenses for 2 or 3 users?
Answer
Standard License (Per Seat) Model:
- Yes. You can purchase licenses for only 2 or 3 users.
- In order to license 2 or 3 users, choose the option for 5 Users
- NOTE: There is no 4 user "1 Site Collection" option, you would need to use the 5 user package closest to your needs (5 Users, 1 Site Collection each).

- For example: 5 Users and 10 Site Collections each, gives a total of 50 Site Collections, which can be split up among the 2, 3 or 4 users (example: If you have two users to license, this will be 25 Site Collections per each of the two users).
- Each user will have the same number of site collections licensed. Cognillo will round the number of Site Collections up for 'odd' number of Site Collections
For example: 5 Users 25 Site Collections each = 250 Total Site Collections available to be managed. This can be split for example among 3 users (250/3) = 83.33, we will round this up to 84 Site Collections that can be managed per userusers, from our website, you can do this by changing the 'No. of Users' to 2. - Navigate to the SharePoint Essentials Toolkit product page and click 'Get Pricing' to open the Cost Calculator, see below.

- In order to license 3 users, you would need to choose the option for 5 Users. We do not have a package for 3 users.
- NOTE: You can upgrade the number of Site Collections anytime by contacting us, you only pay the difference and it is pro-rated.
Enterprise Cloud License (Floating/Concurrent) Model:
- No, this license model cannot be used for less than 5 users and is recommended for 10 or more users, otherwise the Standard License above is more suitable and cost effective.
